Welcome to Kanazawa

We are pleased to announce that the 37th International Symposium on Superconductivity (ISS2024) will take place in Kanazawa, Japan, during December 3-5, 2024. 

 Kanazawa is the capital city of Ishikawa prefecture located in the region of central Japan and a convenient city from Tokyo and Osaka, and Nagoya with train. Kanazawa city is about one hour distance from Komatsu airport. Kanazawa is a historic city with a lot of sightseeing spots. Kenrokuen garden is regarded as one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan. Higashi Chaya District is one of most famous destinations for tourists in Kanazawa city. Kanazawa is also famous for fresh food market in Kanazawa city. There are a lot of shops and restaurants specializing in local seafoods. 

On January 1, 2024, we have the earthquake in Noto region in the north part of Ishikawa prefecture about 100 km from Kanazawa. I would like to explain the current situation. The safety of Kanazawa city Hall, the venue of the convention, has been confirmed and there are no obstacles to the holding of the convention including accommodation. It is expected that everyone can participate in the conference with peace of mind.
